Easterseals Passages Hosts Successful 5K/10K Event – Winners Announced

Easterseals Passages hosted its sixth annual #GiveMeaning 5K/10K event on Saturday, April 10. The event had record attendance this year with nearly 200 participants and raised almost $17,000 to support individuals with disabilities.

“It was so great to see the community come out to support Easterseals Passages by walking or running last Saturday,” Jason Meyer, executive director of Easterseals Passages said. “The dollars raised at the event will stay right here in Whitley County to help the men and women we serve.”

The walk/run was held at Morsches Park along the Blue River Trail. Many volunteers assisted in helping the day be a success.

“I want to especially thank the Columbia City Police Department, the Parks Department, Emergency Management of Whitley County, the Fire Department, Parkview EMS, and all of the staff of Easterseals who spent time very early on a Saturday morning helping to make this event such a great success,” Amy Johns, race director, said.

Both the 5K and the 10K were professionally timed events, and the 10K was a Fort Wayne Running Club points series event. Below are first-place winners:
