18 May Passages Receives Surprise Award from AWS Foundation
Passages, Inc. was awarded $50,000 by AWS Foundation to assist in operating expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Foundation awarded the Emergency Operating Award to 10 nonprofit agencies in Northeast Indiana.
“In a time when many businesses closed due to COVID-19, the staff of Passages continued to come to work every single day,” Patti Hays, AWS Foundation CEO said. “They honored the trust of those they serve. Not only did they provide services, they had to do it taking on increased costs of PPE and with limitations on what they could do. AWS Foundation was moved by their continued services and wanted to help with some of their added costs.”
The surprise was delivered via a Zoom conference call with northeast Indiana providers that serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities agency CEOs. Jason Meyer, President and CEO of Passages, said the notification of the award was more than welcome.
“We are truly blessed with the generous and ongoing support from AWS Foundation,” Meyer said. “COVID-19 has brought significant challenges to our organization. While we at Passages have been able to shift our services to best meet the needs of those we serve, it hasn’t come without challenges, and this award makes a huge difference.”
