Passages’ Creative Learning Center, located at 333 North Oak Street in Columbia City, exists to offer a wide variety of programs designed to support adults and youth with intellectual disabilities as they strive to achieve social and economic freedom in their community.
Passages Artistry offers individuals one-on-one time with our art staff to advance their skills in the mediums they enjoy most. Our team also introduces them to other artistic opportunities — aiming to develop growth in all areas; artistic ability, self esteem and feeling accomplished.
This program reaches a wide range of abilities. Some of our artists are just beginning their journey with the very basics of line and color. Others are pursuing paid opportunities in the arts. We offer instructional classes to develop team work, social skills and communication.
Bridge 333 Art Studio
Imagine a place where you are always welcome, encouraged to be self-expressive, make your own decisions, and connect with others. Welcome to the Bridge 333 Art Studio!
Bridge 333 has a model that is structured yet free-flowing, offering a positive and engaging environment for individuals of all abilities. Our artists are free to create original art and collaborate with others, including staff and members of the community. We are enhancing community connections by participating at various local marketplaces.
The studio is organized with a variety of creative stations including painting, sewing, hand stitching, ceramics, paper-mache, building, woodworking and others. Donated, re-purposed items are used.
By taking time to discover each person’s interests and capabilities, Bridge 333 allows them to become more fully integrated in community life.
Spotlight Avenue is a program started by Passages in 2015 to bring live arts and theater to the individuals served by Passages. In March 2017, the Spotlight Avenue group put on their first live performance. The event continues to grow with each new year.

The newest program offered at the Creative Learning Center is our music program. Music therapy helps with speech and communication, fine and gross motor skills, social skill development, anxiety reduction, self esteem and much more.
